Greek Week at the University of Miami will be hosting the 2nd annual Last To Leave, First To Arrive Sebastian The Ibis themed charity art show, taking place on Wednesday, February 27th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the University Center Lakeside Patio.
The show is family friendly and free and features a unique gathering of students, alumni, artists and performers donating their artistic interpretation of Sebastian The Ibis to a great cause.
Last year, over 30 participating artists, including students and alumni, joined together to raise funds for hurricane relief in Puerto Rico. This year, the art show will benefit "It’s On Us," a national and campus wide program to combat sexual assault.
The 2019 event will feature work from local artists like Atomik, well known for his Orange Bowl inspired character plastered across the streets of Miami. It will also include live painting by Surge (who painted last year's famous "Catholics vs. Confidence" mural), the chance to create your own piece with instructions from Miami street art legends for a small donation, and a display of classic Sebastian memorabilia from the University of Miami’s Sports Hall of Fame.
Miami hip hop artist Solo D, known for his hit song "Turnover Chain,” will perform live and Sebastian The Ibis will make a special appearance.
Last To Leave, First To Arrive not only aims to raise funds and increase awareness about sexual assault and the ways to help victims, but it also hopes to bring the broader Miami community together for a family friendly event.
100% of all “Sebastian The Ibis” inspired pieces and prints sales will go to the following causes:
